Doppler Ultrasound
Dr. Soroush Sohrabi, a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon and a trained vascular sonographer, utilises advanced Doppler ultrasound imaging to accurately assess and diagnose vein conditions. This technique plays a vital role in the management of venous disorders, allowing for precise identification of venous reflux and ensuring that all factors affecting treatment decisions are thoroughly evaluated.
Dr. Sohrabi performs a detailed assessment of both the superficial and deep venous systems, identifying damaged veins and evaluating valve function to determine the exact source of venous insufficiency.
The procedure is completely non-invasive, painless, and safe. A small amount of ultrasound gel is applied to the skin to enhance image clarity, and a handheld device is gently moved over the area to visualise the veins beneath the surface.
Patients are encouraged to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, though suitable attire will be provided if needed.
The venous ultrasound scan typically takes 30 to 60 minutes, providing essential diagnostic information to develop a tailored, effective treatment plan for each patient.

After Your Venous Ultrasound
Following your venous ultrasound, ongoing monitoring is essential to maintain the health of your veins, even after successful treatment.Patients are typically advised to return for follow-up visits at three months and six months post-treatment, along with scheduling annual ultrasound exams to track vein health. While these check-ups don’t always result in additional procedures, they play a crucial role in detecting early changes and ensuring your veins remain healthy in the long term. Regular follow-ups help us provide the best care tailored to your needs.
